Hope you are staying dry. I would love to invite you and Joan over to our farm to see the work my husband, Santi (whose from Rapa Nui), has been doing with wood (very similar to your installation by the creek) and he also carves Moai out of tree stumps, etc.
We are pretty close to Joan's
3301A Route 207, Goshen, NY 10924 and hope you will be able to find time for a visit while you are in the area.
